Introduction

The Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and the Indian Air Force Academy.

The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively.

Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

NOTE: Women candidates are eligible only for OTA.

Eligibility:

Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam.

Candidates in their final semester of graduation are also eligible. Such candidates will be required to submit the proof of graduation by a date to be specified in the notice for the Examination.

Age Limit: The lower limit of the age is 19 years and the upper limit is 24 for entry into IMA, AFA and INA, whereas for OTA, it is 25 years.
